6 month shots, sitting up, first word, and first tooth

Last Monday, Ava got her 6 month shots. She did very well with them. It is still harder on Mommy and Daddy than it is on her. Here are some photos of our trip to the doctor's office:

She loves kisses from her daddy!

Hugs from Mommy are pretty good too!

In other news, Ava said her first word last night. All 3 of us were standing at the check out counter of New York & Company and Ava was saying "dada" over and over again. Jeremy and I looked at each other with a funny look. 6 months is pretty early to say your first word. I looked at Ava and said, "Ava, can you say `dada?`" She looked at me and grinned and repeated, "dada." She did it several times after that to prove that she was saying it. We almost leaped for joy in the middle of the store. We were laughing so loud that people were staring at us!

When we came home from our family "date." We discovered that Ava has her first tooth breaking through! So many firsts in one day!!

To add to the lists of new things, Ava can now sit up unassisted! (We are still working on neck and back control. She likes to fling herself backwards!) But, I did manage to capture a few shots where she is sitting up playing:

 Daddy is close by

Daddy is a little farther away

It seems like everything happens at once! Before we know it, she will be graduating high school!
