My Birthday

Well, I am now 29 years old!! We celebrated my birthday on April 15th (yep, tax day...and the anniversary of the Titanic's sinking...and the anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's death...and the day of the Boston Marathon bombing) what a sad day in history :( But, we managed to have a great time despite all of the negative things going on in this world. My in-laws came for a visit and took me out to dinner at DePalma's and breakfast at City Cafe. Jeremy bought me a new console table for our living room, as well as a dozen red roses. The money I received as gifts was used to buy 2 new lamps for the console table and storage bins for storage underneath the table. I had such a wonderful day with my family. They truly know how to make me feel special and appreciated.

Greta's 1st Easter

For Easter this year, we had a little Easter party at my house for all the stay-at-home-moms in our church. It was just a little 2 hour shindig that included lunch, an Easter egg hunt, and recess. We had a really good time! It was simple and fun! Greta did not actually hunt eggs at this hunt. She sat in her little swing and watched everyone else. She and Ava wore their cute little tutus that their Nana bought for them! So precious!!

This expression is so funny to me! I don't remember Ava being in a particularly nasty mood, but this makes it look otherwise! Ha!

On Easter Sunday, we did a small Easter egg hunt at the church building. It was raining outside, so it had to be held in our fellowship hall. Greta actually did get to "hunt" eggs at this one :)

Greta @ 10 Months!!!

I am totally delinquent on these monthly posts, but hopefully Greta will forgive me one day...

My sweet little baby is growing up! I am already in the planning stages of her first birthday. The theme is going to be flamingos!!! I can't wait!! I think it will be really cute!

Since I did not do a 9 month post, I will give her stats from her 9 month appointment:

height: 26 inches long (25th percentile)
weight: 17 lbs. 14 oz (7th percentile)
head: 75th percentile

I think sweet little Greta is going to be a petite one (just like my side of the family) :) Her personality develops more and more every day. She is becoming sweeter and sweeter by the minute. She is very sensitive and cuddly. She enjoys playing near her momma all the time! She is a Momma's Baby!! I love it!

Here are some milestones:

  • She has learned how to go from sitting to crawling.
  • She is now pulling up to a standing position on just about everything.
  • She can reach down to pick up a toy that she has dropped (while she is standing)
  • She is very hesitant to cruise just now.
  • She points to things that she is interested in.
  • Greta is very quiet, but she does say, "Mama!" "Dadee!" "bababa!" those words use to be just random babble, but she is now putting meaning with them.
  • She loves to be tickled on her belly.
  • Her sweet voice sounds like a hummingbird (or what a hummingbird sounds like in my imagination)
  • She eats a 4 oz pack of veggies or fruit along with a 6 oz bottle twice a day and still takes a bottle feeding at breakfast and bedtime.
  • She wears a size 2 shoe.
  • Greta can wear anywhere from 6 month clothing all the way up to 12 month clothing. It just depends on the brand.
  • Greta has started doing really well in her Bible class. She can also do really well during the worship hour as long as I am diligent in getting her to sit still. Sometimes I do have to take her out, but many times I am able to keep her in her seat for the duration of worship.
  • She LOVES her daddy! She gets really excited when he comes home from work. She will get really giddy and try to stand up on the couch and look over the back. It is so cute! I love that both of my girls have a good relationship with their daddy.
  • She is starting to get a little more social at church.
  • EVERYTHING goes into her mouth!
  • She loves to be swung in the swing in our backyard.
  • She uses her pincer grasp to pick up small items.
  • She enjoys toys that open and close, turn, and roll.
  • Greta started taking her baths in the big girl bathtub last month! She has such a great time splashing around with Ava!
  • Greta has 4 teeth. I think another one may be pushing through the gums soon.
  • This baby girl can SLEEP! She sleeps about 12 hours at night and takes 2 naps during the day. Her first nap is about 1.5-2 hours long, and her second nap is about 3 hours long.
As usual, I am sure that I have forgotten a few things. If I think of anything else, I will post it! :)
