I know that this little bird is tucked away, but this is as close as I could get without it flying away! One day, maybe I will actually get to sit and bird watch while Ava is taking a nap. There are so many pretty birds that make their home in the woods behind our house: bluejays, cardinals, mockingbirds, and hummingbirds. Ava and I have had a close encounter with a hummingbird TWICE in our backyard. Both times she was playing in her little jumper and I heard the telltale heavy batting of little wings. I turned around and a little emerald green hummingbird was hovering right over her head. It was so neat to see the shocked expression and awe on her face!
