Nurse Marie

Two weeks ago, Jeremy, Ava, and I went to the hospital to visit a family who had just welcomed their third child into the world! Joe and Alexa Barger have two girls: Sidney Ellis (5) and Molly Jane (4); and a little boy: Henry Webb (newborn). As we were leaving Alexa's room, we saw someone that we had not seen in 9 months! Nurse Marie! Marie was the nurse who assisted in Ava's delivery. She was with me from about 2 in the afternoon until Ava was born at 7:52 pm. She helped me quite a bit after the delivery too. She was wonderful! I think that there probably are no bad nurses at Northport DCH, but we were so thankful to have her. She was such good company while we were waiting for our little one to come into this world. We asked her if she had time to take a few pictures with Ava, and she said "yes."

Ava took out Marie's earring, so Jeremy had to try and pry it from her fingers. Whenever Ava has her tongue stuck out like this, it means she is not giving up easily!

Marie said, "It's okay!" So we let Ava hold onto it while I tried to take a decent picture. The look on Ava's face is triumphant! (and for good reason, it is not everyday we let her win a battle!)

This is as good as it gets :) Marie had to be in a room and we had to go sit in the waiting room while Webb was making his grand entrance! We were so glad that we got this picture with our delivery nurse. Whenever we have another Pate baby, we will definitely request her!
