Visit With D'Atra

D'Atra Montgomery is our adopted daughter. She is currently a junior at Troy University, in Troy, Alabama, seeking a degree in Journalism and maybe Spanish (she hasn't decided on the Spanish part yet) We met D'Atra 3.5 years ago when she walked from her home to our church building. She knew she needed to be involved in a church but had no clue where to begin. That visit led to a Bible study with me. For about 6 months, D'Atra and I met at the church building every Wednesday afternoon from 6-7. She had tons of questions! Finally, after several months of study, D'Atra was baptized for the remission of her sins and was added to the church. After that, she came to live with us for a few months until she would leave for college in the Fall. We miss her, but are so proud of her independence and faithfulness! D'Atra came for a visit this past weekend. She has met Ava before, but Ava is now old enough to recognize her.

Here are some photos of our visit:

Ava loved pulling D'Atra's hair! Luckily, D'Atra was a good sport and let her play with it. :)

We finally got Ava to look at the camera! Thanks D, for dropping by to say, "hello." We love you and miss you!
