Ava's Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day!

Yesterday was plain awful! You can say that again. Yesterday was plain awful! ( Annie fans will get that) :) School teachers will also get the reference to a storybook in my title. :)

Yesterday was a rough day in the Pate household. Jeremy and I put Ava down to sleep at about 9 PM and she tossed and turned for an hour and a half. When she started to cry, I went and got her out of bed and put her with us. She settled down with her Grossy and we were finally able to put her down to bed at about 11 PM. That is really late for her. She woke up again at 4:15 AM and stayed awake until about 5 AM. I knew her teeth were bothering her, but she also had an extremely runny nose and sounded congested. Luckily, her well baby check-up was yesterday morning at 9:30 AM, so I could kill two birds with one stone.

I woke Ava up at 8 AM to feed her and get her ready for her dr. visit. She wanted no part of anything. She didn't eat breakfast (she screamed instead) She didn't want milk. She didn't want me to change her clothes. She didn't want socks on. She screamed when I tried to suction her nose. It was not a good morning. I left our house 45 minutes early hoping that the nurses could get us in quickly. I also gave Ava two doses of pain medicine for the shots she would get. :(

Her appointment went okay. She was pretty good through most of it, but she screamed when Dr. Roberts tried to look in her mouth. She did not like the hip check that Dr. Roberts did either! She screamed when she got her shots (which is normal) and she screamed when I tried to put her big girl Little Mermaid sticker on her shirt. She didn't want the sticker peeled off the paper. She wanted the sticker on the paper!

She came home and ate a HUGE lunch and took a 4 hour nap. I used that time to rest up myself! When she woke up from her nap, she was just as ill as that morning. It was so bad that I think my memory forced me to forget it. I can't even remember details about it!

Whew!! If we have more days like that, Mommy might move to Australia!! (Another reference to Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day) :) Ha! I wouldn't actually move to Australia, but a vacation might be nice!!
